Technical Challenge
See This Month’s Challenge

This will challenge you technically to get the photograph. The challenge can vary greatly from use a certain aperture to shutter speed to ISO to flash to everything! It is specifically meant to push everyone beyond their normal comfort zone settings at weddings.

For example:
Capture an image at 2.8 aperture with a shutter speed of 1/200th of a second during the reception.

While this may be easy for some to capture at a wedding, everyone’s situation is different. Perhaps using flash, or even reducing the lighting may be needed to capture this image. Who knows – up to you to figure it out for your situation.

Oh, and yes, at times, these challenges will be something that every photographer can’t accomplish due to equipment limitations. We do apologize if you don’t have the equipment to participate every month – but, hey, you might just come up with a new, creative, technique to handle not having certain gear. Remember, you can always participate in other categories as well.

To enter this challenge, bring one photograph as an 8″x12″ or smaller print to your local meeting (note: the print may be any size, we just recommend 8″x12″ or smaller). Please refrain from placing any identification on the front of the photograph – but, please do place identification on the back. The photograph must have been taken at a wedding during the past year from the challenge date. Bring the challenge print to the coordinating month – so, you would bring the June 2009 challenge print to the June 2009 local Beyond The Wedding Meeting.
